TRURO, NS

Jeffery George Stephen Gorsline, of Dartmouth, has been charged with attempting to rob a Truro bank on Oct. 25.

On that date a man walked into the downtown bank and passed a note to a clerk demanding money. He allegedly told the teller he had a gun, although no gun was seen. He left without getting any money and police released an image captured on security video. They were later contacted by a woman who recognized the man.

Truro Police have charged Gorsline, 37, with attempted robbery and attempt to commit an indictable offence.

He has been arrested in Ontario for similar offences and is being held pending court appearances.
