The shots are again available in community pharmacies and from family physicians. This year, the two Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy locations in Truro, on Willow and Prince streets, are promoting the campaign, and at the same time, raising money for the Northern Healthy Connections Society.
Medicine Shoppe will donate $2 for each flu shot administered to the society, which has offices at 33 Pleasant St.
“We wanted to not only promote the value of the flu vaccine program for the public health of all Nova Scotians but we also want to create a local Truro connection,” said Lennie Walser, pharmacist and owner of The Medicine Shoppe franchises. “The NHCS has been providing community health and education for 20 years, and we share their vision and want to help them out the best we can.”
The flu vaccination is fully insured benefit to all Nova Scotian’s with a valid Nova Scotia Health card.
