Hundreds of athletes and their supporters from 25 countries crowded into Truro's Civic Square on July 20 for the opening ceremony of the Down Syndrome World Swimming Championships in Truro.

Swimmers came from as far away as Britain, Argentina and Australia. Everyone enjoyed a free live show by bagpipe band Squid and Canadian country music star Makayla Lynn.
