Man, 92, dead after logging truck, pickup collide in Kennetcook

KENNETCOOK, N.S. - A 92-year-old man is dead after a small pickup truck and a logging truck collided in Kennetcook on the morning of May 10, 2018

The victim was from Kennetcook, police said.

The crash happened on Highway 354 between Kennetcook and Noel at about 10:15 a.m.

It was near the intersection with Findley Road.

The logging truck, which appeared to not be carrying a load, sat still partially on the highway after the crash, with its cab in the ditch.

The pickup sat nearby on a grassy area on the other side of the highway. It was covered by a tarp.

The driver of the logging truck was not injured, said Cpl. Jennifer Clarke, an RCMP spokeswoman.

She said the the highway remains closed but is expected to reopen at about 5 p.m.
