Local educators congratulated for long service

TRURO – About 40 employees in the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board have been honoured for their longevity as teachers.

CCRSB recently celebrated 25 years of service for many employees across the system. Local recipients included Therese Boudreau, Brenda Campbell Lapierre, Kenda Harris, Jeanne MacLaren, Paul Martin, Eileen Millard, Dale Roberts, Irma Roberts, Brenda Ryan, George Ryan Jr., Angela Saunders, Cindy Watton, Heather Teasdale and Muriel Wright.

Gary Clarke, superintendent of the school board, thanked employees for their dedicated service and their commitment to students during a ceremony last week in Truro.

“On behalf of the students, staff and elected members of CCRSB I want to express our deepest thanks to all of you for your many years of service,” said Clarke. “I know that our students would not realize as much success without all of you.”

Other recipients included Patsy Addison, Jean Blakney, Leon Cavanaugh, Louise Cloutier, Nancy Curley, Dianne Fraser, Stephen Hartlen, Teresa Kewachuk, Vanessa Knock, Donna MacGregor, Sherrie McKinnon, Bruce Moore, Karlene Morris, Gregory Nix, Peter Oldreive, Katreena Ruddick, Ann Rushton, Kenneth Savage, Brad Smith, Charlene Thompson and John van Vulpen.
