A fire early Friday morning forced a family of five out of a Bible Hill home.

The Bible Hill Fire Brigade responded to a call about a house fire, on Hillside Avenue, shortly after 4 a.m. on April 27.

The five people who had been living in the house, two adults and three children, were out of the building before firefighters arrived. The fire was extinguished quickly, but there is a considerable amount of smoke damage. The Canadian Red Cross will provide the family with temporary assistance.

Mutual aid was provided by firefighters from Truro, Valley-Kemptown, and Salmon River.
