COLCHESTER MORNINGS – the snow didn’t show up; will the Ramblers? And props for Murray Siding's hockey star

Hwy 311 was absolutely clear for my drive in from Upper North River at 6 a.m. this morning so no big snow overnight. Most of the rain and snow is stuck down on the South Shore and they are welcome to it, I say.

Environment Canada’s forecast for Truro for today still includes a 30 per cent chance of flurries this morning. By noon the temperatures will be above zero so there is a 30 per cent chance of flurries or showers this afternoon. The winds will remain light out of the east at 20 kmh gusting to 40.

That chance of showers or flurries will continue through tonight. Tomorrow expect a rainy day and a wet Thursday night.

Ray of hope: next week the forecast is calling for southwest winds and double digit highs.

The tidal bore will roll into Truro at 8:10 a.m. this morning and then tonight under the cloud-covered moonlight at 8:54 p.m. The sun will set tonight at 7:45 p.m. and come up tomorrow at 6:44 a.m. – two full minutes earlier than today.
