Canada Post reduces some services at Pictou Road outlet
BIBLE HILL, N.S.
A recent change to the Canada Post outlet at the Esso convenience store on Pictou Road has resulted in the reduction of some services.
Specifically, customers who require financial services through the postal outlet or who want to have their parcels weighed with a scale, will now have to do so at the MacQuarries Pharamasave on the Esplanade in Truro (3.7 km away) or at Shoppers Drug Mart on Robie St (5 km away) a corporation spokesperson said, in an emailed response to a media inquiry about the service reduction.
“On May 31, the postal services changed at the Bible Hill postal outlet on Pictou Road to allow the host business to expand its core products and services,” said spokesman Phil Legault.
The postal outlet continues to offer parcel pick-up, the purchase of stamps and pre-paid cards and drop off of mail, parcels and flat-rate boxes.
“We apologize for any inconvenience to our customers, but we are grateful the dealer will continue offering postal services alongside their expanded and renovated business,” Legault said.
A new convenience store and Tim Horton’s express outlet is being constructed at the site.
