The aim of the committee is to encourage two-way communication and facilitate input and engagement on the project’s activities.

ANGS is involved in a $100-million project that proposes creating storage facilities for natural gas from underground salt caverns in the Alton area.

The project also involves two, 12-km-long pipelines to be used for pumping water from the Shubenacadie River estuary into the caverns and then returning a salt brine mixture into storage ponds that are being created beside the estuary in Fort Ellis, for eventual return to the river.

Anyone interested in volunteering for the committee is asked to send a letter to Alton Natural Gas Storage, 87 Main St., (2nd floor), Stewiacke. B0N 2J0, or by e-mail to: [email protected].
