A broken power pole on Pleasant Street has reduced traffic between MacDonald and Fairview Streets.

TRURO – A portion of Pleasant Street in Truro is temporarily closed to through traffic because of a badly damaged utility pole.

Truro Constable Robert Hunka said the pole was damaged around 6:30 a.m. Friday after being struck by a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old female.

Both air bags in the vehicle were deployed, he said, and the girl received minor injuries to her hands.

The street is closed between MacDonald and Fairview streets until repairs can be made by Nova Scotia Power.
