Federal prison time for Shubie man convicted of holding up convenience stores

TRURO - A Shubenacadie man who used threats of violence while robbing the Needs convenience store in Salmon River was sentenced Wednesday to 46 months in a federal prison.

Claude Levi Maloney, 25, of 58 Tower Rd., pled guilty to stealing 18 packs of cigarettes last March while his face was concealed with a mask.

He also pled guilty to attempting to steal from Leno's Convenience Store in Elmsdale while armed with a utility knife.

Maloney is banned from owning or possessing firearms for 10 years and must take all rehab programs available to him while in prison.
