BROOKFIELD – Roop’s Esso has been granted approval to open a Nova Scotia Liquor Commission (NSLC) agency store in the village.

The convenience store and service centre was one of four retail outlets in the community that applied for the rights to open an agency store after the NSLC recently sent out requests for proposals.

The other applicants were the Brookfield Market, MacQuarries Pharmasave and Brookfield Bakery.

The decision was publicly released on Tuesday and is available for viewing on the provincial government’s procurement services website.

The rural, South Colchester village was one of seven across the province that have most recently been approved to host a NSLC agency store.

A spokesperson for Roop’s could not immediately be reached Wednesday afternoon.
