INDIAN BROOK - A 33-year-old man was transported to hospital early Sunday morning after sustaining non-life threatening injuries from a stabbing.

RCMP Sgt. Brigdit Leger confirmed the RCMP was called to a stabbing incident just before 1 a.m. Sunday on Eagles Nest Road in Indian Brook. The man was still in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre at lunchtime.

"The investigation is still ongoing," said Leger, adding the North East Nova Major Crime Unit was assisting the Indian Brook RCMP. "The suspect and victim were known to each other, so it wasn't a random incident."

Leger wouldn't say if a suspect had been arrested, or if the police were still seeking a suspect.
