TRURO – A 25-year-old woman facing charges in relation to a New Year’s Day shooting in Millbrook had her plea adjourned until July.
Macquel Lynn Weatherbee, of 4 Galaxy Ave., Dartmouth, remains in custody and had her plea adjourned at her lawyer’s request until July 17 at 1:30 p.m.
She’s facing numerous charges, including two counts of assisting Robert Edgar Paul escape while knowing he had attempted to murder and assault Richard Hillary Johnson, as well as one count each of assault with a weapon, administering bear spray and carrying a weapon (bear spray).
Paul, 21, of Indian Brook, is charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault on Johnson, as well as several weapons offences. He’s scheduled to stand trial Sept. 3 to 5.
Weatherbee entered a guilty plea while before the judge for failing to surrender herself to the judge for a Feb. 26 hearing.
She was fined $5, along with a $1.50 surcharge, with the court acknowledging she had spent 20 days on remand by that time.
