Victoria Park Swimming Pool opens June 25

Published on June 20, 2014
This is just a fun shot of one of the first days the Victoria Park pool was open to visitors this past summer. In order to get the shot I was looking for, I had to hold onto the post of the lifeguard chair and lean back as far as I could to make sure she and the swimmers were in the shot.

TRURO – The outdoor swimming pool at Victoria Park officially opens for the season on June 25.

This weekend, however, the popular swimming pool will be open for limited hours for evening swims on Friday, and public and toonie swims on Saturday and Sunday.

The summer 2014 pool brochure with details about swim times, lessons and prices is available on the Town of Truro website at www.truro.ca/victoria-park-pool.html.

Dates have been set for three Splash Bashes this summer, featuring music, food, prizes and more: June 27, July 25 and Aug. 15 (7 to 8:30 p.m.) for ages 8 to 12, and Aug. 15 (8:30 to 10 p.m.) for ages 12 to 18.

The outdoor facility includes a toddlers’ pool, water spray features, double water slide, swimming lanes and diving board. The pool deck has benches, shade and grassed areas for your relaxation.

And, did you know, the pool is wheelchair accessible with a beach-slope entry?

Don’t forget, the pool is also available for private parties. For booking and other information, call 895-7078.

Children age 10 and under must be supervised by an adult at all times during public and toonie swims.
