TRURO – Blueberry lovers should mark mid-August on their calendars.

Plans are now underway for the 10th annual Wild Blueberry Harvest Festival, which will take place Aug. 15 to 30 throughout central Nova Scotia.

An organizing and general meeting regarding specifics of the festival, which will include representatives from the Wild Blueberry Harvest (Festival) Co-operative, will be held May 27 at 10:30 a.m. in the boardroom of the Wild Blueberry Producers Association of Nova Scotia on Dakota Road in Debert. The community is invited to attend to learn how individuals in different communities can get involved.

Last year, the festival included more than 70 wild blueberry themed events, more than 45 not-for profit groups and 24 food and beverage establishments.
