TRURO – A pre-trial conference for an Earltown-area man facing child pornography and sexual assault charges will continue in July.

Robert John Alan MacKinnon, 24, who was living at 180 East Earltown Rd., Balmoral Mills, at the time of his arrest, was charged last summer along with 21 other men from across the country, including 14 from Atlantic Canada, with making child pornography available.

MacKinnon, who was not present in provincial court for a pre-trail conference on Monday, is also charged with touching a person under the age of 16 for sexual purposes and of making child pornography.

He has pled not guilty to the charges and is scheduled for a full-day trial in provincial court trial next Feb. 17.

Following a brief pre-trial conference in Jude Warren Zimmer’s chambers on Monday, court heard that the conference is to continue July 30 at 9:30 a.m.
