Truro man pleads guilty to assault, trying to poison

TRURO - A Truro area man is to return for sentencing in June after pleading guilty to a charge of administering a noxious substance - poison.

David William Johnston, 41, of 220 Mountain Lee Rd., North River, entered the plea through his lawyer, Al Begin, in provincial court on Monday. Johnston also pleaded guilty to one count of assault causing bodily harm.

Begin requested a pre-sentence report before sentencing. Johnston is scheduled to return for sentencing on June 30 at 9:30 a.m.
