Meeting scheduled to explore PROBUS club possibility

TRURO – An information meeting has been schedule for later this month to look into the possibility of a PROBUS club forming in the area.

The meeting is set for the Truro Fire Hall on April 15, beginning at 10 a.m. Coffee and tea will be provided.

PROBUS clubs have already been established in Halifax, Dartmouth and the Annapolis Valley, and reaches out to retired and semi-retired residents. The club is devoted to fellowship without commitment and is not a service, sectarian or political organization. Members regularly meet with friends, renew former relationships and create new ones, all while learning about common interests through guest speakers.

An acronym for professional and business, PROBUS clubs are worldwide, with 4,000 in total. More than 200 are in Canada, with 11 in the Atlantic Provinces.

The meeting will be a chance to ask questions and meet representatives of the Nova Scotia clubs who have been invited to tell more about the activities of the organization and their respective clubs.
