TRURO - Thanks to a major spring storm, cancellations are still being issued on Thursday.

All public schools in the province, including Chignecto-Central Regional School Board, are closed for the day, as well as Ecole acadienne de Truro.

The Nova Scotia Community College campus in Truro is closed, as is the My World of Learning daycare, and the Dalhousie Agricultural Campus in Bible Hill is set to open at noon.

Provincial government offices in Colchester County will delay opening until 10 a.m. due to the weather conditions.

With Ski Wentworth reporting a snowfall amount of 30 to 40 centimetres, it still remains closed on Thursday due to forecasted high winds. It will provide an update at 11 a.m. or sooner regarding an afternoon opening.

Students at LSK in Indian Brook have a second day off from school, and band administration offices remain closed.

While the roads throughout the Town of Truro are plowed for the most part, the sidewalks still haven't been cleared and pedestrians were seen Thursday morning walking in the road. Motorists are asked to use extreme caution.

Highway 104 between Truro and Amherst was closed to traffic on Wednesday and re-opened around 7 a.m. Thursday.

Motorists venturing out today can call 511 to get road updates throughout the province.

"Clean ur car inclusing the roof," the Nova Scotia Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal tweeted. "Give yourself time. Drive slowly and safely."

The Truro Mall, expected to open at 9:30 a.m., is delaying opening until 10 a.m.
