School board accepting applications for French immersion programs

The CCRSB is explaining its storm day closure procedure after deciding against closing schools on Monday.

  TRURO -The Chignecto-Central Regional School Board (CCRSB) is now accepting applications for students interested in enrolling in Middle French Immersion, Late French Immersion and Integrated French programs.

The application deadline for Late French Immersion and Integrated French is Feb. 27. The application deadline for Middle French Immersion is Feb. 28.

Middle French Immersion is offered in the Celtic Family of Schools (Pictou County) only, and has a Grade 4 entry.

Middle French Immersion – Information Sessions for Parents will be held at the following locations

F.H. MacDonald Elementary School
 - Feb. 1 (Storm date: Feb. 12)
 at 6 p.m.

A.G. Baillie Elementary School
 - Feb. 18 (Storm date Feb. 19)
 at 6 p.m.

West Pictou Consolidated School
Date – Feb. 20 (Storm date Feb. 24)
 at 6 p.m.

Late French Immersion is offered at sites in the Nova Family of Schools (Municipality of East Hants) and the Cobequid Family of Schools (Colchester County), and has a Grade 7 entry.

Redcliff Middle School
 -Feb. 11 (Storm date Feb. 12)
 at  6 p.m.                                                                                                                         

Riverside Education Centre
Date: Feb. 13 (Storm date Feb. 18)
 at 6 p.m

Integrated French programs are offered at sites in all four families of schools: Celtic Family (Pictou County), Chignecto Family (Cumberland County), Cobequid Family (Colchester County) and Nova Family (Municipality of East Hants), and has a Grade 7 entry.
