TRURO – A 37-year-old man remained in police custody Tuesday morning after an alleged robbery at Pleasures and Treasures on Mill Street.
Truro Police Service Deputy Chief Jim Flemming said the man, 37, was apprehended at about 9:20 p.m.
“He was arrested on Victoria Street near Pleasant,” said Flemming, regarding the robbery that occurred at about 6:35 p.m.
“Our officers responded and our K-9 unit was called out. The K-9 unit tracked the suspect for a while and recovered some evidence, but then lost track.”
Flemming said there is no mention of a weapon being used in the robbery in the police department’s report, just that the Truro man pushed the employee aside.
“He ended up taking some cash, but it doesn’t say how much,” the deputy chief noted.
It was expected the man would be charged on Monday with robbery and transported to provincial court the same day.
