Additional charges laid in Millbrook shooting

MILLBROOK - Two people arrested in connection to a New Year's Day shooting in Millbrook are facing additional charges.

Two men were injured during the shooting, which saw the two suspects - Robert Edgar Paul, 21, of Indian Brook, and Macquel Lynn Weatherbee, 25, of Dartmouth, arrested in the early morning hours of Jan. 2 at an apartment on Galaxy Avenue in Dartmouth. Weatherbee's address is 4 Galaxy Ave.

Paul has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault against Richard Hillary Johnson as well as for several weapons offences. He has been remanded and is to appear in Truro provincial court on Jan. 9.

Weatherbee has been charged with accessory after the fact for attempted murder and aggravated assault, helping to assist Paul escape, as well as assault with a weapon and carrying a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Weatherbee, who appeared in provincial court in Truro on Wednesday was granted time to seek legal counsel.

She is next scheduled to appear in court Feb. 26 to enter a plea.
