TRURO – The Cougar Dome got a financial boost Tuesday from Truro Subway Restaurants.

Subway announced it was donating $100,000 to the $2.2-million project, which is under construction behind Colchester Legion Stadium and is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.

“We’re very excited to be part of this new facility,” Subway owner Jeff Colburne said. The donation pushes the project’s fundraising efforts to more than $1.7 million.

The Cougar Dome will be a 50,000 square foot indoor athletic complex which will consist of six tennis courts, a three-lane synthetic running track and a 16,000 square feet of artificial turf.

It will be free for students to use and open to the public as well.
