Holiday celebrations will mean traffic delays in Truro this weekend

TRURO, NS

The Christmas tree lighting and parade take place this weekend, so be prepared for lots of traffic and a few street closures.

The Festival of Lights begins Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. with the tree lighting ceremony in the Civic Square. There will be caroling under the stars, hot chocolate and candy canes.

On Saturday, starting at 6 p.m., the Santa Claus Parade will weave its way through the streets of town. This year’s theme is ‘Canada 150 – Christmas Past & Present.

Parade route: Starts at Lorne, right on Queen, left on Court, left on Prince, right on Young, left on Esplanade, continue to Walker, left on Queen and back to Lorne.
