TRURO, N.S. – Stealing merchandise from a grocery store resulted in a suspended sentence and 12 months’ probation for a Truro man, following a previous guilty plea.

Michael Gratto, 30, of Charles Street, was also ordered to perform 20 hours of community service within the first 10 months of his probation.

Other conditions include that he not be on the premises of Atlantic Superstore, that he not possess or consume alcohol or illicit drugs or enter any establishment where alcohol is a primary source of business.

Gratto was also ordered to successfully take counselling for alcohol and drug use, mental health issues and educational advancement.
