TRURO, N.S. – An Elmsdale woman was fined $2,000 after being found guilty during a trial in provincial court of impaired driving and refusing the breathalyzer.
Joanne Lynn Hale, 40, of Rhodas Lane, is also prohibited from driving for one year.
She was charged last March in Truro Heights. An RCMP officer testified that Hale ran a red light and then exhibited a “bizarre” driving pattern as he followed her while attempting to stop the vehicle.
When the woman did pull over, after he turned on the siren, the officer said she exhibited a strong odour of alcohol, seemed unable to speak in complete sentences and fell against her van when she got out.
