PORT HAWKESBURY, NS

Port Hawkesbury RCMP is investigating a hit and run involving a dog who was being walked on a crosswalk by a teenage girl.

Around 7:30 p.m., on January 26, a 15-year-old girl was walking a dog across Reeves Street when a vehicle struck the dog and then fled the scene.

The dog was injured and was taken to an animal hospital for treatment.

Police report the vehicle involved was a small, gold/tan coloured Honda.
