Cape Breton police issue warrant for North Sydney man in connection with stabbing

SYDNEY — An arrest warrant has been issued for a 26-year-old North Sydney man charged in connection with a Sept. 16 stabbing incident.

Corey Patrick Richard Blinkhorn of Peppett Street is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon (a knife), carrying a weapon dangerous to public peace and five counts of breaching court orders by failing to abide by a curfew, two counts of failing to keep the peace and association with those who have criminal records.

He is charged in relation to an early morning stabbing on Pitt Street in Sydney in which a 19-year-old man was stabbed.

The 19-year-old was treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and released.

Blinkhorn is described as 5’8”, 174 pounds, black hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to please contact Cape Breton Regional Police at 902-563-5151 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
