Conditional sentence for Bible Hill man who breached probation
TRURO - A Bible Hill man convicted of multiple counts of breaching his probation terms by drinking has been handed a six-month conditional sentence.
Thomas Michael Johnson, 21, of 42 Wright Ave., was ordered to spend the first three months of his sentence at the Harvest House addiction centre in Moncton.
For the following three months he is to be subject to a curfew from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Johnson was also convicted of stealing from the NSLC and of breaking a sprinkler at the Truro police station.
His sentencing conditions also include not possessing or consuming alcohol or illicit drugs, staying away from establishments where booze is sold and successfully taking counselling for alcohol or drug use. As well, Johnson was ordered to not associate with
anyone with a known criminal record.
Impaired driving results in house arrest, probation
TRURO - A Truro man convicted of impaired driving was hit with a four-month conditional sentence and placed on probation for 12 months.
Perry Vincent Shearer, 52, 343 Robie St., Apt. 2, also had his licence revoked for two years.
Shearer is to spend the first month of his sentence under house arrest and the final
three months under a 10 p.m to 7 a.m. curfew.
Sentencing conditions also include not possessing or consuming alcohol or illicit drugs, not entering drinking establishments and being assessed regarding counselling for alcohol use and mental health.
Failure to take counselling results in community service
TRURO - Failing to take counselling as directed and not performing a court-ordered 20 hours community service has led to a six-month conditional sentence for a Truro man.
Alexander Kris Faulkner, 47, of 54 Alice St., Apt. 1, was ordered to spend the first three months under house arrest. For the following three months he is to adhere to a curfew from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
During the six months, Faulkner is not to possess or consume alcohol or illicit drugs, stay away from drinking establishments and take counselling for alcohol and drug use and
