Stories of caring for the wounded during WW l will be told at the Colchester Historeum Thursday evening (May 17).
Author and historian A.J.B. (John) Johnston will present a one-house illustrated talk, which will include the story of Katharine McLennan, who grew up in Cape Breton and worked as a nursing assistant in four French hospitals.
Johnston’s recently released book, ‘Something True,’ was inspired by McLellan’s story.
Johnston will also talk about the background behind his young adult novel, ‘The Hat,’ which is about how a village deals with the Acadian deportation from Grand Pre.
Admission to this presentation, which begins at 7:30 p.m., is free.
