The show, part of the Wild Blueberry Harvest Festival, includes original paintings by Lyndia Baird-Wellwood, Janice Guinan, Christene Sandeson, Janice Stewart and Susan Sweet.
This is the third year Janice Guinan has organized the show.
“I am very pleased that an art show is an ongoing part of the Wild Blueberry Festival and that the Holiday Inn is so supportive,” she said. “The inspiration behind the show is the colour blue in celebrating the Wild Blueberry Harvest Festival, our love for Nova Scotia and how it has influenced and shaped our work. Subject matter will be varied, including lighthouses, landscapes, seascapes, animals, birds, still life and abstract art.
“We look forward to seeing everyone, displaying our new art works and sharing in this annual community celebration.”
All five artists are very accomplished, with work in permanent public collections, and have been recognized in various art publications and media.
The show runs Aug. 27 to Sept. 1, with an opening reception in the Birch Room of the Holiday Inn on Monday, Aug. 28 at 6:30 p.m.
