Hockey hall of famer to attend Sunrise Film Festival


RIVER JOHN - A former Boston Bruins legend is making his way to a local film festival.

Stuart Cresswell, founder of the Sunrise Film Festival, and Troy Greencorn, creative director for the deCoste Centre, are shown before the festival's final screenings and awards ceremony in Pictou Sunday.

Phil Esposito, who was inducted into the NHL Hall of Fame in 1984, will be at the Pictou Lodge Nov. 11 and 12 for the Sunrise Film Festival. He’s attending as part of the group involved with ‘The Red Maple Leaf’, which will get its Atlantic Canada premiere at the festival.

Armand Assante, one of the stars of the film, will also be in attendance and participate in a question and answer period following the film.

Author Lesley Crewe, who wrote the book "Relative Happiness", will be at the festival and so, too, will Nova Scotia producer Paul Kimball.

Filmmakers from India, Finland, the U.S., and the U.K. are attending this year's festival, which will showcase short and feature films from around the world.
