TRURO, N.S. – There’s a fun event coming to Truro this month for fans of craft beer.
As part of Nova Scotia Craft Beer Week 2018, ‘TAPPED Truro Craft Beer Fest’ is returning, and this year’s event is being held at the Rath-Eastlink Community Centre April 28, from 7 to 10 p.m.
The evening will include entertainment, fun things to see and do and a selection of craft beers.
“The slogan this year is ‘Tapped to the Extreme’ and we’ll have some extreme obstacles such as Big Baller and Meltdown (Wipeout games), that are really fun to play or watch,” said Amanda Langille, of Langille & Colburne – More than Events. “We’ll also have the gladiator ring.
“For people who want something a little calmer we’ll have giant Jenga and washer toss. There’s something for everyone.”
Last year’s event, which was held in the Agridome, on the NSPE grounds, included eight craft beers and 600 tickets were available. This year there are 15 beers, including some from new breweries, and up to 1,200 people can attend.
“It was more popular than we expected last year, so we’re ready for a big crowd this year,” said Langille. “There’s obviously a thirst for this. Craft beer is exploding in Nova Scotia, and this allows people that wouldn’t usually be exposed to it to try it.”
Tickets are $29 + fee/tax (Total $35.55) and cover the cost of access to the event, 10 four-ounce beer samples, a TAPPED take-home glass, and a voucher for use toward an after-party beverage. The after party will be held at The Nook & Cranny and Sauced.
Tickets for the Nissan shuttle, providing attendees with a drive following the event, are already sold out.
Tickets can be purchased online at Eventbrite.
