Corey Hart opening act for Shania Twain in Charlottetown

CHARLOTTETOWN - Rock star Corey Hart has be added to the line-up for the Shania Twain P.E.I. 2014 Founders Week Concert on Saturday, Aug. 30 in Charlottetown, Donald K. Donald and and AEG Live Canada announced on Wednesday.

Hart’s special guest appearance will mark his first show in Prince Edward Island and his return to Atlantic Canada, where he last performed at Fredericton’s Aitken Centre in 1988. 


The Island is the only province in Canada where Hart has never appeared live in concert.

“I’m very honoured to have been asked by Shania to perform at her concert celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the historic 1864 Charlottetown Conference,” said Hart. 

“Shania Twain is one of the classiest musical acts to ever grace the world’s stage. We are going to have a blast on Aug. 30.”

Hart is recognized as one of Canada’s most successful singer-songwriters, best known for his hit singles “Sunglasses at Night”“Never Surrender”, and “In Your Soul”.  He has exceeded 16 million record sales worldwide and scored nine US Billboard Top 40 Hits.

Also opening the show will be P.E.I.’s own Trinity Bradshaw, who has become a familiar name in the Canadian Country music scene.
