Lions throwers headed for Lethbridge print this article
The Truro Daily News

TRURO – A group of Colchester County throwers are getting the chance to work with some high calibre talent for the next eight days.
Coach Paul Millman is taking Truro Lions athletes Robert Kennedy, Nathan Burris, Kayla Gallagher, and Peter Millman to Canada’s high performance training centre in Lethbridge, Alta., to work with Olympic coach Jim Steacy and his athletes to hone their skills.
“The group that is going are all in Grade 10 so for him to take a look at these kids because they’re such a promising group is a pretty big deal,” Millman said.
The centre is located on the University of Lethbridge campus. The four athletes will practice there twice a day until they return home Dec. 7.
The group will be joined by several athletes from New Brunswick as well.
The Colchester athletes were invited by Steacy after he heard of their recent successful summer season, which saw several Lions throwers nab provincial records.
They’ll get the chance to practice the hammer, shotput and discus events in a full indoor facility and will also work with coaches on a weight-training program.
