Variance approval allows Scotsburn plant to expand
The Truro Daily News
TRURO – A variance has been issued again to allow the expansion of one of Truro’s largest businesses.
Scotsburn Dairy Group was recently granted a variance to permit a reduction in the side yard setback from 20 feet to just under 15 feet. It will enable the company, located in the Truro Industrial Park, to grow by 28,000 square feet to expand its freezer capacity.
The expansion is valued at $5 million.
Earlier this fall, Scotsburn was granted the variance and the town received appeals from two nearby businesses. Shortly after the town approved the variance through the appeal process a detailed survey showed the building was closer than the 18 feet it had requested.
The town’s building inspector re-evaluated and approved the request and there were no appeals filed before the deadline.
