An event being held in Truro provides people with an opportunity to get rid of old clothing, go home with something new, enjoy a coffee, support the environment and celebrate Earth Day.
Cobequid Educational Centre students Josiane Gibson and Tara Cashen have organized a clothing swap, to be held at the Douglas Street recreation center from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on April 21.
For each article of clothing brought to the event, visitors can take up to three items home.
Aroma Maya coffee will be sold and served during the event.
There is a $5 entrance fee, with proceeds going to support environmental justice projects in India. Gibson and Cashen will be taking part in a two-week backpacking trip with Operation Groundswell, helping people with environmental projects.
Anyone wishing to drop off clothing ahead of the event can email firstname.lastname@example.org.
