WALLACE, NS - There will be something spooky in the trails around the Wallace Museum on Oct. 24, as the annual ‘Walk in the Dark’ takes place.
The event, which is designed for children aged 12 and younger (accompanied by an adult) has been held in the village for at least 20 years, and draws about 100 participants.
“We set things up along the trails and teens from the area help out,” said Doris Purdy, president of the museum society. “There’s a witch’s house, swamp monster, someone under the bridge… Some of the kids like it so much they want to go a second time.”
Groups of about 10 are sent out every 10 minutes, beginning at 6:30 p.m., and refreshments will be served.
There is no charge for the event but people are asked to bring something for the food bank. Anyone planning to take a child to the walk should call 902-257-2191 to register.
