Sledding at Legion Hill for Long John Festival

TRURO, N.S. – Organizers arranged perfect sledding conditions for the second day of the Long John Festival.

Several dozen children and their parents hit snow-covered slopes, rocketing down the hill at warp speed.

The Truro Legion had free hot chocolate and cookies inside to help the young ones warm and maintain their energy.

Later Sunday there’s a movie at the Douglas Street rec centre at 2:30 p.m. and open skate, free for anyone in onesies, at the Colchester Legion Stadium at 7:30 p.m.

Monday the festival continues with the opportunity to try sledge hockey at the Colchester Legion Stadium at noon and the launch of African Heritage month and more skates at the Legion Stadium.

For a complete schedule see the Town of Truro’s webpage: www.truro.ca/living-in-truro/truro-winter-long-john-festival.html
