I love summer but I was also recently thinking about things like bug bites, kids nagging because they are bored and there is nothing to eat the day after you bought groceries. Take a deep breath and smile because it gets really boring when the kids grow up and move away.
On to medical issues. I want to talk about colostomies. A lady sent me a letter telling me now awful it was to find the right liners – ones that don’t leak or release odour. She had asked drugstores and hospitals if there was a better, cheaper liner and was told nothing like that existed. Her daughter went online looking for something to make her mother's life less stressful and she found the perfect solution: they are called Colo-Majic Liners. There are 100 liners per bag and they come in different sizes. The cost is about $40. She said the freedom they give her is unbelievable, no odour, no mess and easy to dispose of and for health reasons sanitary, easy to apply.
They are made and designed in Canada and you can ask your drugstore to get them for you or order online at www.colomajic.com
I didn't make it to the flea market last week. I could not get out of bed. I felt so sick every time I lifted my head the room would spin. I think it’s the bone filler medicine. I also have hot flashes at night and I feel awful so I'm glad my oncologist cut it down to every second time I get the chemo.
Thank you for all the letters and cards. I really appreciate them and it makes me smile knowing people are rooting for me – even people who are complete strangers. Prayers really help.
Speaking of prayer, I am asking all my readers to send some good vibes and I would like you to add my uncle John to your prayer list. He was a caption in the army for years and now he is getting ready to do his next call of duty in heaven. He has only been given days, so please think of him in your prayers.
Tip of the week … to stop the itch and sting of a bug bite, put rubbing alcohol on a tissue and rub it on the bite or itch site.
