It seems what I thought was a swollen gland in my neck actually turned out to be a lymph node. Not good, and it may be swollen from cancer. If so, that will be the first soft tissue the cancer has invaded. I am getting a CT scan done so keep your fingers crossed and send me lots of good vibes.
I am on steroids now - remember the pills that had me cleaning the floors at 4 a.m. Well they haven't kicked me into overdrive yet but my feet and face are getting red so it looks like I have a bad sunburn. I am also very nauseated and I don't feel like eating.
I had to get blood work done but I went to the chemo unit to get Alice to do the blood test through the port so it didn't hurt. That was a blessing.
I am so glad that I got the port in and if you ever have doubts about getting one, come ask me and I will tell you the difference. It's like eating a bologna sandwich compared to having a hot turkey sandwich with potatoes and gravy! Would I ever hesitate again about getting one? No!
As far as appointments go, I've had many cancellations. My dentist appointment was cancelled because of a storm, as was an opportunity to speak for a Women A Like group meeting. Hopefully I will do it next month when the weather is better.
Speaking of storms, Wayne cleaned out the snow from my driveway and step. That was a huge help. And Elmo loves the snow. It's funny watching him as he rolls in it and jumps around. He has his little sweater on that my neighbour Jodie got him for Christmas but he gets it wet from playing so a lady in Bible Hill knitted him a new sweater. Isn't that kind? When I go to Truro next I will stop at Betty Young's place to pick it up then he can play and get wet and change and go back out to play. He sounds like a real child!
I've had people ask for a picture of Elmo to go in the paper so they can see him. When I learn to trim is hair better I will ask them about doing that because now he is having a bad hair/fur day!
On another note, Mary is also having a birthday so when you see doing demos at Sobeys tell her happy birthday!
Weight wise, don't ask. But remember, it was not too long ago that I was under the 150 mark.
Tip of the week: take some time for yourself. Read a book, go to bed early so you get a good rest, forgive yourself for something you may have done or said that you didn't mean to. Everyone gets stressed, even you.
Have a good week folks and I hope you had a good Valentine's Day. Love, Kathy
