A multicultural night and silent auction pub in support of the Immaculate Conception Parish Guatemala Outreach Project will be held on Saturday.
The event will take place at Campbell Hall (Immaculate Conception Parish), 669 Prince St., Truro, beginning at 5 p.m.
Guests can taste foods from around the world from 5 to 6 p.m., enjoy music in the pub until 9 p.m. (19 and over) and take part in the silent auction, which closes at 7 p.m.
Silent auction items include a 2004 Olympic hockey jersey signed by Wayne Gretzky and a chalet weekend getaway near Tatamagouche.
Tickets are $15 per person, while children under 12 are admitted free.
All proceeds from the event will be used to purchase cook stoves and playground equipment for rural Guatemalan villages.
The Guatemala Outreach Project was founded nearly a decade ago. The first goal of the project was aimed at fundraising for medical and school supplies for rural villages in Guatemala.
The group has since made a difference by raising funds and installing stoves and chimneys in villages in the Central American country. The project has grown every year and has since started to install playground equipment.
The group plans to install 325 stoves this year and to build a playground.
