Curling is alive and well in Tatamagouche

After the summer break more than 60 enthusiastic curlers gathered at the second level of the North Shore Recreation Center in Tatamagouche last Thursday evening. Spokesperson Ken Beck said they have 16 teams playing this season but they are still welcoming more curlers. There are two shifts on Thursday evenings - from 6 to 8 p.m. and between 8:30 and 10:30 p.m.

“We welcome any ages from high school students right on to seniors,” said Beck. For more information call any of the executive members, who include president Jamie Cripps, vice-president Dave Scharf; secretary Gail Matheson and treasurer Ken Beck.

As well as the award winners shown in the picture above, a most sportsman like trophy was donated the by the family of the late Frank Blois who was a member for the North Shore Curling Club. The 2012-203 winner was Robert L. Cameron.
