On the roads: Tinted windows, studded tires and safety seats
I hope everyone is enjoying summer.
I felt like the Energizer bunny last week. Not because of my energy level, but because I was on the go constantly.
I started out by getting a complete bone scan. With this test it’s in nuclear medicine and starts with a needle. You leave and return in two hours because it takes that long for the medicine to go through the body. Then you lay on the scanning bed and the machine works its way from head down and goes so slow your are worried you will start snoring. Anyway, I will get the results soon and will let me know if the chemo is working and if the cancer is growing or dying. Keep your fingers crossed!
After that test, I saw the bladder specialist who did tests to see what’s going on with that.
The next test was in Halifax, where I had a cardiogram done to see how well my heart is pumping. My heart is a little low again from taking the chemo but it is still working well enough to keep taking it, which is good news. I have to take medication every day to keep my heart working at a good rate. I could stop the pills but they are prevention drugs because the chemo I’m taking will cause the heart to have problems over time. I don't have to go back to this doctor for a year, so again, good news.
And, by the way, weight wise – 138. Yes!
Outside of medical appointments, I had the chance to go to a healing touch gathering in New Glasgow. I really enjoy it … you lay in a chair after meditation, then a qualified person starts to revive your energy with their energy. They are trained to get rid of the bad energy and replace it with their strong energy. I like to have two people working on me at once and I feel the difference the next day.
An update on Elmo: he is doing great at his new home where he has another dog with him. I had a hard time with him because I did so much work with him and he was still often very difficult, but I
I miss him so much and I still cry when I think about him being gone. So I'm looking for a puppy or a young dog that's small and lovable. If anyone knows of a small, cute dog that needs to be loved and a home please call the paper and give them your number and I'll call you.
Congratulations to all the graduates and youngsters who will be moving on to the next grade in the fall. Have a great summer and be safe!
