Despite pain and setbacks, life is good

Here a pain, there a pain, everywhere a pain. That’s how I’d describe my past week.

Every day it seemed like I added a different place to the day before and I could never really say which place hurt the most. I guess I had a fever one night because I had to change my PJs four times through the night because they were absolutely soaked.

I also had a bit of a sore throat but when I got out my neti pot that helped make my throat feel better.

To add to things, I have a constant ringing in my ears. It comes with age but when everything is quiet it gets even stronger.

Overall, pain-wise last week I was about an eight and that’s not good. However, weight wise … 141 so that is good news.

I also went to see if the doctor got my wrist X-rays back yet and sure enough it showed arthritis deep in the thumb. There is actually a very small joint in there so I asked the doctor if she would give me a cortisone shot in it. She said no way because it was too small a joint so she was going to get a surgeon to do it.

Despite everything happening, I ran into my friend Cookie and she gave me inspiration. It's like a boot in the bum without the foot print! I really needed that, so thank you Cookie.

I had a unique question posed to me last week. A lady asked me in a letter if my mother was doctor Phyllis Golemiec. She went to university with a lady by that name. Yes, it’s the same Phyllis Golemiec and she passed away six years ago. She was the greatest mother and a very smart lady and I miss her very much.

My secret sew-er sent me a beautiful Easter egg to hang in the window all year as well as tea cozies. And the bracelet and necklace are beautiful so thank you every much. Thank you for all the letters and gifts; please know they are very much appreciated.

Tip of the week: remember, we all want to live a long time but really life is short, so make the best of it. Remind your loved ones that you love them and as long as you’re having a happy life it doesn't matter how long it is. Make the best of everything.

Have a great week folks!
