It goes like this: millions of records, a couple dozen hits, a Juno Award for Band of the Year and ongoing sold-out shows across Canada.

Canadian rock band Trooper will be rocking the RECC on Sept. 13 in the Community Credit Union Arena.

“After hosting April Wine last September, one thing was obvious to us,” says Jim Lambert, general manager at the RECC. “Truro has a deep appreciation for rock music.

“Trooper is one of those truly iconic Canadian rock bands, with hits that everyone can sing along to,” Lambert says. “Since the first concert we’ve revamped the layout and made some improvements that will add to the quality of sound in the arena, so we’re really excited about this event.”

Also set to perform at the concert are The Town Heroes, an alternative-rock power duo that received the 2014 East Coast Music Awards (ECMAs) for Rising Star and were voted Best Band in The Coast’s 2012 Best of Music poll. They’ve shared the stage with acts such as Grouplove, Wintersleep, The Trews, Stephen Page, Mother Mother, The Sheepdogs, Hey Rosetta, The Ataris, and The Stanfields.

The event is for people aged 19+ only. Tickets go on sale Aug. 14 at the RECC, online at, by calling 1-888-311-9090, or at any ticketpro outlet.

If you purchase your tickets at the RECC Front Desk anytime from Aug. 14 to 20, you will receive a free full facility day pass for each ticket purchased. Call 893-2224 with any questions.
