100 Women Who Care set to choose next funding recipient


TRURO, N.S. – One of three local charities will find out on Tuesday if they will be the next benefactor of the 100 Women Who Care group in Truro.

The three charities nominated for the Sept. 5 meeting include the Boys and Girls Club of Truro/Colchester, the VON of Colchester and Hubtown Cobequid Arts Council.

The group that is selected will receive a minimum of $10,000 in funding to be spent within the local community.

The meeting is being held at the Rath Eastlink Community Centre (RECC) with the reception and registration to take place at 5 p.m. The meeting begins promptly at 6 p.m. with adjournment slated for no later than 7 p.m.

Registration is ongoing and can be done by contacting the group prior to the meeting at 100womentruro@gmail.com or during the registration period at the RECC.

The meeting will also include an update from the Truro Homeless Outreach Society on the funds they received at the last session in June. As well, the names will be revealed of the candidates to be considered for the next meeting in December.
