HALIFAX, N.S. – Truro businessman Stu Rath has been named as a Junior Achievement of Nova Scotia 2018 Laureate for the Business Hall of Fame.

Rath, who, among many interests, owns the Truro Bearcats junior A hockey team, was named a laureate along with Nova Scotia business leaders R. Diane Campbell and Rob Steele.

Each year, JA Nova Scotia and the Business Hall of Fame honour individuals who inspire the business community and future business leaders with a record of unparalleled lifetime achievement.

Rath has been involved with a number of business pursuits over the year. He’s been recognized with awards that include Truro Chamber of Commerce - Business Man of the Year in 1997; Honorary Membership in Kiwanis Club in 2001; Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Club of Truro in 2002; United Way Outstanding Leadership award in 2007; Truro Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achievement award in 2011, among others.

As a mentor, Rath has provided assistance for a number of local business people and entrepreneurs and is viewed as a true leader in the community.

The three new laureates are to be formally inducted at a gala event, presented by East Coast Credit Union, on June 6, 2018.

The event is hosted and attended by the Business Hall of Fame Governors, chairman Circle Members, sponsors and their guests.
