TRURO – Bubba Ray’s Sports Bar in Truro is now under new ownership.

Derek Forsyth, co-owner of the Nook and Cranny Brew Pub, officially assumed ownership of the business Tuesday morning.

Located near the Bank of Montreal on West Prince Street, the business is being renamed Hubtown Sports Bar and Grill and Forsyth said he expects it to be back in operation by the end of next week.

Forsyth said the purchase is being made under his Truro Group of Companies, which in addition to the Nook and Cranny, also includes Sauced Wood-Fired Pizza, the Salty Dog brewing company and Belly Up BBQ & Grill.

Bubba Ray’s employees were informed by letter several weeks ago that the business would be shutting down. However, Forsyth said he hopes to retain some, if not all, of the previous staff.

“Everybody will be offered, if they are interested, to reapply for their job back,” he said.
